Nimbus Cloud
A team-collaboration SaaS rebuilt from a legacy jQuery app into a React + TypeScript dashboard with real-time sync.
Client: Nimbus Cloud Inc.
ByteForge is a remote-first web development studio building fast, full-stack products for founders and teams who refuse to ship anything average. Since 2019 we've shipped interfaces that load quick, convert visitors, and hold up under real traffic — not just in a portfolio screenshot.
Four builds across SaaS, agency, commerce and analytics — each one designed, coded, and shipped end to end.

Nimbus Cloud came to ByteForge with a five-year-old jQuery dashboard that took over six seconds to become interactive on mid-range laptops, and their signup conversion had plateaued for two straight quarters. Over an eight-week engagement we rebuilt the front end in React and TypeScript, restructured the data layer to cut redundant API calls by 70%, and redesigned the onboarding flow around a single clear call to action per screen.
The result wasn't just a faster app — it was a faster business. Support tickets related to "the app feels stuck" dropped to near zero within the first month post-launch, and the product team could finally ship new dashboard widgets without fighting render performance.
I'm Alex Reyes, founder and lead developer at ByteForge. I started out fixing WordPress themes for local businesses in 2019 and spent the next five years working my way through freelance contracts, an in-house product team, and a senior engineering role before going independent again in 2024 — this time by choice, running ByteForge as a focused, one-developer studio that partners with a small bench of designers and QA specialists per project.
ByteForge is remote-first and works with clients worldwide. No agency layers, no account managers relaying messages — you work directly with the person writing the code.
"ByteForge rebuilt our dashboard in eight weeks and our signup rate nearly tripled the following quarter. Alex actually explains trade-offs instead of just saying yes to everything."
"We handed over a messy brand brief and got back a site that finally looks like the agency we actually are. Communication was fast and there were zero surprise invoices."
"Our checkout abandonment dropped noticeably within a month of launch. ByteForge cared about page speed as much as they cared about how the product looked, which is rare."
